When the Institute for Sport and Social Justice (formerly the National Consortium for Academics and Sports) approached us nearly two decades ago to help build its brand and unify its national programs, we had no idea we would become lifelong advocates of its mission. Today the ISSJ stands at the forefront of sport leadership, social justice, and youth empowerment. Together we have helped brand and build over a dozen programs nationwide, including: Teamwork Leadership Institute, Mentors in Violence Prevention, Project Teamwork, National Student-Athlete Day, and the Giant Steps Awards. We look forward to another two decades, and to helping develop another generation of leaders.
